Today, you'll drive to the stunning Yamdrok Lake in Tibet, passing over the high Kampa La (4750m) and Karo La (5010m) passes, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and turquoise waters. Enjoy breathtaking views, take beautiful photos, and explore this sacred lake, believed to be a goddess in transformation.

Drive from Kathmandu to Kerong town, on the Tibet side 6 to 7 hrs | 145kms

We start our day early and drive on the winding mountain roads to Kerong Border (Nepal-Tibet Border). After necessary border formalities at Nepalese as well as Chinese immigration, we change our vehicle and continue an hour further to the Kerung town. Our Tibetan guide will accompany us from the Kerung border throughout our tour in Tibet.

Drive from Kerong to Shigatse 390kms

Today, the drive is uphill to the highest plateau of the world with vast surreal views, including Mt Cho Oyu and Mt Shishapangma. This is certainly a sight to behold for a lifetime. Further on, you will be greeted by the iconic Mt Everest from Tingri. Brace yourself as we drive over Gyatchu La, the highest pass at a staggering 5,220m en route Lhasa.

Drive from Shigatse to Lhasa 260kms

In the morning, we take a little sightseeing tour to the Panchen Lama's Tashilhumpu Monastery and teh local market in town before heading to Lhasa. Lhasa will be our base for the next two days.

Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse 260kms

The scenic drive today crosses over the high mountains passes of Karola Pass and Kambala Pass. On the way, we also take a short excursion to the turquoise Yamdrok-Tso Lake, one of the three largest lakes in Tibet. Our stop for the night is Gyatse where we also visit the Kumbum stupa and Phalkor Monastery.

Drive from Gyantse to Tingri 334kms

After breakfast, we embark on a long drive to Tingri. (Optional: If the whole group agrees, you can opt for a trip to Everest Base Camp and Ronbuk monastery for an extra cost)

Drive from Tingri to Kathmandu

After Breakfast, we set off to the Kerong border where the formalities await. We bid farewell to our Tibetan guide, cross the border where we get picked up by our Nepali guide and jeep, and then drive off to Kathmandu.

Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse 273kms

Today's scenic drive takes us across the high mountain passes of Karola and Kambala. Along the way, we also make a short excursion to the turquoise Yamdrok-Tso Lake, which is one of the three largest lakes in Tibet. Our overnight stop is Gyantse.

Drive from Gyantse to Ronbuk 365 km

The drive from Gyantse to Rongbuk offers a breathtaking journey through high-altitude passes, Tibetan villages, and sweeping mountain vistas, culminating at the world's highest monastery with stunning views of Mount Everest.

Drive from Ronbuk to Kerong, via EBC

In the morning, we visit Ronbuk Monastery and drive to the base camp on rugged, winding roads. The drive is only 45 minutes long. We spend some time taking pictures and admiring the beauty, before heading back to Kerong.

Drive from Kerong to Kathmandu, via Kerong border

After Breakfast, we set off to the Kerong border where the formalities await. We bid farewell to our Tibetan guide, cross the border where we get picked up by our Nepali guide and jeep, and then drive off to Kathmandu.
